Internationalization of territories

Industrial competitiveness in major OECD countries is increasingly in question. To restore competitiveness, everyone knows that innovation is a key issue.

To promote local excellence at an international level and in order to meet a changing demand, one should think his offer within the framework of a global competition. You are an attractive area but are you attractive in the eyes of foreign investors? Objectively measuring the position of your territory in the target market is a prerequisite to set up a winning strategy, before mobilizing resources efficiently.

Cetanā® accompanies territories in the implementation of their internationalization strategy through FDI and clusters promotion.

1. Attracting Japanese investors : the Cetanā® model

The time has passed when a Japanese company was worth only as an importer or investor, rarely both. If we accept that the world is globalized, we can also get to the idea that firms too are globalized.

The true is that Japanese companies too may as well simultaneously seeking direct customers outside Japan and prepare for a direct investment in some foreign country. Today, FDI has many facets and must be seen from a broad perspective.

Cetanā® is proposing to put your territory at the heart of this movement by sharing with you 25 years of experience with Japanese SMEs and regions. A network built off the beaten track A network full of opportunities for your territory.

Our goal is to make your territory a reference for attractiveness.

2. Clusters : the Cetanā® pentagon

Michael Porter saw in the cluster a factor of competitiveness through the implementation of four competitive advantages (resources and environment of the member companies, local market conditions and a significant number of related industries), represented by a diamond.

Trade globalization has not failed to change the diamond into pentagon, adding the international dimension. Because international is a dimension transverse to economic, relational and territorial, cluster promotion should be implemented in these three areas.

We believe that a cluster, as a body, offers a valuable perspective to promote a territory internationally. For us, a cluster is a multimodal and three-dimensional platform allowing a wide variety of operational cooperation at an international level.

  • The "B 2 B" dimension will put you in contact with numerous potential investors among successful SMEs which are less visible but promising companies. These companies are sometimes supported by Japanese public authorities. They need individual support in order to expand their business outside Japan.
  • The "R&D 2 R&D" dimension enables Win –Win collaborations between private companies as well as research laboratories on joint projects. It is a very efficient way to foster innovation.
  • The "Academic 2 Academic" dimension allows training generations of students: engineers, scientists in Japan skills they will have no trouble enhance their careers.

For many years, Cetanā® accompanied and implemented such projects for the benefit of several Rhone-Alps clusters and poles of competitiveness. Our actions are part of a continuous process in a structured and scalable framework.
